Nora and her daughter Tess, along with her son Leo, took their seats in the back row of the empty cinema ready for their monthly movie day. They always went during the day for the first screenings because it was almost always empty. Today was no different. A handful of individuals dotted around the theater but they had the back to themselves. Leo sat down between his women and placed the giant box of popcorn on his lap and reached for a handful.
"Hey!" chided Nora, slapping him playfully on the hand. "The adverts haven't even started yet, young man!"
Tess chuckled and Leo grinned at the half hearted discipline. "Sorry Mum," he muttered, then took a single popcorn and quickly threw it in his mouth before winking at his mother cheekily.
